Why should I work with a Personal Trainer?

Motivation, encouragement, accountability plus new ideas, nutritional advice and correct training technique…here are just some of the reasons. Some of my clients want to tone up or lose weight. Sometimes it’s for event or a competition, getting married or after having a baby. A professional will listen what you want to achieve, assess your starting point, your circumstances and put together a personalized training and nutritional plan to get you there.

I’ve tried all sorts of diets and have not achieved any lasting results. What’s different about your programme?

Quick fix diets don’t work long term. I help by suggesting a couple of realistic eating habit changes every week adds up to big changes in the long run. By filling in a food and training diary we can look at where the changes can be made, and how I will help you achieve your goals.

How often will I need to train with you?

That's up to you. I recommend to start with at least once a week, so we can measure your progress and you stay accountable. We would chat when we met about how this would fit in with your busy schedule and, ultimately, I want your fitness programme to be enjoyable and sustainable.

I ‘m busy and I don't have a gym membership. Where will we train?

I have a private One-on-One studio, called THETRAINSTATION, 1/34 King William Road, Wayville, SA 5034 (click on link below for location) or we could train outdoors or I could come to you or we could train outdoors at the beach or in a park. On top of this I would design you a personalized plan so you can get a really effective workout at home with little or no equipment.

Do I need to do anything between sessions?

To maintain fitness levels it is recommended that we do 30 minutes of moderate exercise 5 times a week. Ideally to gain fitness benefits we need to up the time and intensity to 45 to 60 minutes 3 or more times a week. We would plan to start with what other activities you can fit in bearing in mind your time constraints and work from there.

How long before I see results?

You will feel better and have more energy after the first week. In terms of weight loss, a goal of 1 to 11/2lbs a week is a sensible aim. In terms of fitness, you will see changes after a few weeks. The more you put into this though, the more you get out of it and I will give you the tools and motivation to do this.

Do I need to train with you forever? How does the process end?

You can if you want to! However, my hope is that, once you've been working with me for a while, you will have the knowledge and enthusiasm to keep going by yourself. Some of my clients have moved on to training with me once a month or 6 weeks to get new ideas to keep the momentum going. You can always come back to me in the future if you fancy a new challenge. It’s up to you, you’re the client after all.
